Substance Abuse Treatment Services

The Light CORC provides American Society of Addictive
Medicine (ASAM) Level I and Level II treatment to adults
aged 18 years and over.

Level I criteria for treatment is less than nine hours per week.
Separate programs are offered for customers who enter
services voluntarily or those for whom the courts or other
community services agencies mandate services.

The voluntary program consists of a diagnostic assessment,
nursing assessment, drug screens, optional / individual and
or family therapy and five hours of group therapy a week
for a minimum of eight weeks.

The mandated program consists of a diagnostic assessment,
nursing assessment, drug screens, optional/individual and/or
family therapy and three hours of group therapy a week for
a minimum of seventeen weeks.

Intensive Treatment Program

Customers requiring more intensive outpatient or residential
treatment are referred to Day Services.

The ITP (ASAM Level II and II.5) consists of three
sub-levels of care: Intensive Treatment Program (day),
Intensive Outpatient Program, and Intensive Program with
Residential Component.

Level One:
Out Patient Treatment


Professional evaluation, treatment and recovery services

Delivered in a variety of settings

Provided in regularly scheduled settings

A defined set of policies, procedures or medical protocols

Services address major life style, attitudinal, and behavioral
issues that have the potential to undermine the goals of
treatment or inhibit an individual’s ability to cope with major
life tasks without the non-medical use of alcohol or drugs.

Level Two:
Intensive Outpatient Treatment
Partial Hospitalization


Outpatient services that delivers treatment during the day,
before or after school or work, in the evenings or on week-
ends for six hours of structured programming

Provides essential education and treatment components
about substance related mental health problems

Leaves room for “real world” application of new skills

Can arrange for medical and psychiatric consultation,
medication management, and 24 hour crisis services

The Light CORC provides treatment services
for the Piedmont Judicial Circuit Drug Court.
